Segmented industrial networks, site-to-site links and secure remote maintenance for facilities that sit behind carrier NAT or unreliable uplinks.
Infrastructure & continuity
Self-hosted service architecture, backup and recovery paths, certificate and update lifecycle. Systems whose survival is planned rather than assumed.

What each area actually involves
Industrial automation & field systems
Work at this layer starts at the machine and moves outward: what the controller exposes, what the operator actually does with it, and which failures are silent until someone walks the line.
Commissioning and diagnostics are treated as the same discipline. A system that can be brought up but not diagnosed afterwards has only postponed its first outage.
Networks & remote access
Industrial networks are designed for containment first: what must reach what, and what must never be reachable. Segmentation is a safety property before it is a security one.
Remote access is built to survive the connection it runs on — asymmetric links, carrier NAT and uplinks that degrade rather than fail cleanly.
Infrastructure & continuity
Continuity work is mostly unglamorous: certificate renewal that cannot silently lapse, backups that have been restored at least once, and update paths that do not require a maintenance window nobody will approve.
The measure of this layer is what happens when nobody is watching it.
Technical domains
Deeper specialisation
Areas of technical depth that sit behind the three capability areas rather than alongside them. Described as expertise and problem domains, not as offerings.
Data pipelines & reporting
Moving operational data out of the equipment that produced it, validating it on the way, and turning it into something a plant manager can read. The hard part is rarely the transport; it is agreeing on what a number means before it is reported.
Data analytics
Working with production and process data to separate signal from instrumentation artefact. Much of this is establishing what the data cannot answer, so decisions are not built on a measurement that was never taken.
Milking systems expertise
Domain depth in robotic and conventional milking installations — the equipment, its control layer and the operational routines around it. This is where most of the field experience above was accumulated.
